Major Willie James Miller, 83, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born February 11, 1943, Willie was the son of Willie Miller and Barthelia Miller. He was a graduate of Tuskegee University and proudly served his country for more than 20 years in the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of Major.

Following his military retirement, Willie managed the Lewis Jones Apartments and remained devoted to his family and community. He will be remembered for his generosity, strong work ethic, service to his country, and deep love for his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Miller, Irvin Miller, and Charles Miller; sister, Bessie Miller; and grandsons, McKinley Keith and Myles Major.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Doris Miller; children, Sharee Miller, Sonya Markle, and Willie James Miller Jr.; grandchildren, Dustin Fitzpatrick, Reigna Miller, and Sophia Markle; and sisters, Janice Bennett, Letetia Smith, and Althae Watson, along with extended family and friends.
