Wilhelmenia Iris Stingley, 67, was born on March 9, 1954, to Mr. Harry Johnson, Sr. and Mrs. Oleander Saucier Johnson in DeLisle, Mississippi. She was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Wilhelmenia departed this life, Sunday, October 3, 2021.
Wilhelmenia attended the historic Randolph High School. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, DeLisle, where she served in various ministries, faithfully. Wilhelmenia was a member of the Senior Choir and she served as President of the United Methodist Women for many years. She was committed to the work of Christ and was intentional about doing her part to make her church and community a better place. As a leader in the TOPPS Program, a community targeted program, committed to providing health education and wellness information to communities, Wilhelmenia ensured that members of her community understood the dynamics of maintaining a healthy physical and nutritional lifestyle. Wilhelmenia inspired many.
Wilhelmenia possessed such a fun, lively, and loving spirit. She seemed to have never met a stranger. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and watching western films and television shows. Another activity that Wilhelmenia enjoy, and it kept her on her feet, was dancing. Wilhelmenia was a member of the South Mississippi Ballroom Dancers and the Marsha Ann Soul Line Dancers. Her smile and friendly personality was simply captivating. It is not often that we are blessed to share time and space with such a positive and optimistic person like Wilhelmenia. Even in the midst of her own health and physical ailments, she still managed to smile and brighten the days of others. Wilhelmenia entered every stage of her life with style and grace. Now that her earthly life has come to end, we the family, chooses to celebrate an honorable and lasting legacy and a life well lived. We pray that Wilhelmenia's life has been a blessing to all who knew her.
