Obituary

Walter L. Walker, Jr. , 96, was born May 27, 1924, in Hornbeck, Louisiana. He departed this life, at his home, on Thursday, March 11, 2021.

Mr. Walker was a resident of the Mississippi Coast for over 70 years. He served in the United States Army for several years, a World War II Veteran. He was Baptist. Mr. Walker obtained employment with the Biloxi VA until his retirement. He was a very outgoing and personable, man. His zest and sheer cheer for life made it impossible to not enjoy his company. In his spare time, Mr. Walker enjoyed fishing, but his greatest joy was his family and his boat (Bev. Cheryl III), in which he was the captain.

He had an amazing gift of repairing electronics. In fact, Mr. Walker owned a television and radio repair business for many years, Walker's Radio and Television Repair Service. He was a well rounded and well balanced man, always making sure that he remained engaged in his community and did so through organizations such as the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge- Rectitude #323, in which he served faithfully. There are so many accolades, honors, and memories that we could share about Mr. Walker, but we are comforted by having been blessed to share time with such an amazing man.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. Alice Johnson Walker and Mr. Walter Walker, Sr.; a daughter, Cheryl Walker Llyod; a brother, Cornelius Walker, and three sisters, Lula Mae McCoy, Alice Hall Mitchell, and Earlie D. Washington.
Mr. Walker leaves to cherish his life and memories his beautiful and devoted spouse; Mrs. Deborah Walker- Gulfport, MS; two sons, Walter Walker, III- Pass Christian, MS, Wendell (Quansuela) Walker- Cincinnati, OH; two daughters, Beverly Walker Lott- Gulfport, MS, Gay Walker (Mannie) Hampton- Century, FL; two sisters, Alberta Williams- Gulfport, MS, Catherine Dickinson- Prichard, AL; eight grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
