Obituary

On August 4, 2019, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, cousin, and friend made her transition to her new home to be with the Lord. Tomeka Danielle Lewis, 31, of Gulfport, Mississippi was a 2006 graduate of Prentiss High School. She was a member of Washington Chapel United Methodist Church. After graduation, Tomeka furthered her education and obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Mississippi State University in Accounting. After graduating from Mississippi State, Tomeka accepted a position with Concentrix Service Center.

Tomeka  was a very hard working mother of three handsome boys. Nothing made her happier than being a mother to her children. She loved to travel, was very adventurous, and always willing to try new things. Tomeka's smile would illuminate a room and her sweet and salty personality, as her family would say, would bring joy and laughter to the gloomiest of days. Tomeka was the living and breathing embodiment of beauty inside and out.

At the initial diagnosis of her illness, Tomeka, with her usual strong self, accepted the news with optimism and strength. There was not one day that went by when she didn't take the opportunity to use her illness as a source of strength for someone else. As her family looks back, they now understand that it was that very source of light that she was ordained to gift the world with. It is has been said before that in this life, we have all been purposed to offer the world something before we leave. And while the family is saddened by her departure they rejoice in the love, light, laughter and lessons that she gifted the world with. It is through Tomeka's life that we see that our lives are not our own and the more that we are able to use our lives to help breath life into someone else, we make this world a better place. So on behalf of Tomeka, her family, and many friend we say, "Thank you for accepting her gift of laughter, light, and love." Tomeka will forever be missed, but her legacy will live on through those she touched.

She is proceeded in death by her father, Mr. Charles E. Pace; maternal and paternal grandmothers, Annie Kate Harvey and Maxine Pace and an aunt, Cynthia A. Powell.

She leaves to cherish her memory her memories, her mother, Charlotte Otis, her pride and joy, her three sons, Nile, Noah, and Langston Lewis; a brother, Teri Pace; two sisters, Shereka (Alvin) Lewis Magee and Tanisha Lewis; a forever loving special friend, Rodney Anders; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
