Theresa Elaine Young, 65, was born on October 4, 1955, to Mr. Curtis Parker and Mrs. Sally Shelton in Marshall, Texas. She was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast for more than 25 years. Theresa departed this life, Friday, August 13, 2021.

Theresa was a graduate of Karnack High School in Karnack, Texas. After graduation, she attended Wiley College where she earned her 4 year degree and Bridgeport where she earned her Masters degree in Elementary education. Theresa worked within the Biloxi School District for 14 years. After her time teaching in the Biloxi School District, she began her tenure at Job Corps, where she was an Educator for many years. Education was important to Theresa and she dedicated her time ensuring that children received quality education.

Theresa was a very reserved person. She enjoyed spending time alone a reading the Word of God. Singing at church brought Theresa great joy, but it was the Word and her love for God that kept her. When she wasn't studying the Word, Theresa enjoyed working on word puzzles. Family meant a great deal to Theresa. Spending time with them was important to her. Humble, loving, and serving others was the core of who she was and in the arms of Christ is where she is.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Curtis Parker and Mrs. Sally Shelton; three sisters, Alicia Kay Parker, Faith Parker, Janet Jackson, and a grandson, CJ Scales.

Theresa is survived by her, two children, Roshonda Young and Nafi Young; a brother, Charles Parker(Vivian); a sister, Jackie (Frank) Jones, five grandchildren, Ellegra Davis, Cierra Scales, Judah Young, Simone Scales, Simeon Scales; nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Theresa was an extraordinary woman and she will be greatly missed, but her Legacy will live on.
