Shelby Jean Long Folwell, 85, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away Monday, August 5, 2024.

Born October 21, 1938, in Savannah, Georgia. Shelby is the daughter of the late Avery Long and Ethel Letchworth Long of Grand Bay, Alabama. Shelby was the oldest of 4 children. She was also preceded in death by one son, Bernard Joseph Hezik of Campbellsville, Kentucky, one brother, Donald Long of Beaumont, Texas and her only sister, Melody Long of Grand Bay, Alabama.

Shelby enjoyed crocheting and reading.

She is survived by her husband Robert Folwell of Gulfport, Mississippi; one brother, Larry Long of Theodore, Alabama; two sons, Kerry Nessmith (Betsey) of Boothbay, Maine and Walter Hezik Jr. (Karen) of Noblesboro, Maine. Five daughters, Barbara Lee of Moss Point, Mississippi, Judy Hezik of Gulfport, Mississippi, Mary Gordon of Braselton, Georgia, Kathy Brookshire (Norman) of Commerce, Georgia, and Sheri Bridges of Hope Mills, North Carolina. Also, daughter-in-law Judith Hezik of Campbellsville, KY. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
