Roman William Gist, 59 of Gulfport, Mississippi passed away on December 3, 2020. Roman graduated from Gulfport High School in 1979. After graduating he enlisted in the military and faithfully served for 4 years. He later attended a local Community College where he studied Welding and spent the last 3 ½ years working for the Veterans Administration. He was a faithful member of Word of Faith Christian Center, Gulfport, MS where he was very active and loved working in his church. He never had a problem helping where needed and thoroughly enjoyed serving God through the various ministries in the church. Roman was known as a very charismatic, witty and humorous person. He never met a stranger which led him to holding conversations with anyone for long lengths of time. He most enjoyed spending time with his family and attending social gatherings. In his downtime you could find Roman reading his bible and studying the word of God. His loving spirit allowed him to keep a positive attitude which helped to cheer all those who encountered him. Roman was beyond a joy to be around, he lit up the world with his Godly spirit and will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by one son; Marcel Gist, and his grandparents; Reverend P.H. (Mary) Williams and Roman (Wilma) Peebles. He will be forever be remembered by his father; Roman (Theresa) Pebbles, Los Angeles, CA; mother, Barbara Gist (Paul) Pierre, Ocean Springs, MS; two sons, Ashton Gist, Charlotte, NC; Christian Nunnery, Jackson, MS; one daughter, Danielle Gist, Killeen, TX; three sisters, Synovia (Selwyn) TrimChino, CA; Hope (Samuel) McKee, Gulfport, MS; Autumn Peebles, Los Angeles, CA; one brother, Kevin Gist, Gulfport, MS; three grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
