Roberta
Hatcher
May 8, 1939 — Jun 24, 2021
Gulfport
Roberta Hatcher was born May 8, 1939, to the late Shellie Mae Dillon Hatcher and Albert Hatcher in Tylertown, Mississippi. She was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Roberta departed this life, Thursday, June 24, 2021.
Roberta was a beautiful, strong, compassionate, and caring southern lady. She was reared in the Baptist faith and was taught to maintain a strong work ethic. She enjoyed the simple things in life like fishing, working crossword puzzles, and of course, shopping. Her family meant a great deal to her, and she was always concerned about their well-being. Roberta was the embodiment of a phenomenal woman!
Like many other phenomenal women, the title does not come without strength, determination, and fortitude. Roberta's religious and spiritual upbringing taught her that nothing she put her hands to would prosper without the blessing of our Lord, so she was intentional about living her life in that light. She loved hard and demanded the same in return. For those who knew Roberta knew that she was very stern, not out of spite, but out of a place of care and protection. A true matriarch, Roberta has indeed left a legacy for her family.
Roberta is preceded in death by her parents, Shellie Mae Dillon Hatcher, and Albert Hatcher; two sons, David Bradley, Patrick Cook; a daughter, Alice Posey; four brothers, Joe Hatcher, Clarence Hatcher, Herbert Hatcher, Harold Hatcher; and two sisters, Alberta Hatcher-Saucier and Claberta Hatcher.
She is survived by a son, Anthony (Charlene) Cook; four daughters, Sylvia Bradley, Judy Cook, Lydia Bradley-Tyler, Dresella Cook; two brothers, Hurshell Hatcher, Douglas Ray Hatcher; one sister, Clardina Hatcher Jones; 11 grandchildren, LaTanya, Nechiya, Jalena, Arroyo, Chad, Alicia, Christopher, Philipe, Kayla, Nadhira, Allen; 12 greatgrandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
