Mr. Robert "Bob" Burton Barrett, of Biloxi, MS passed away Friday Sept.2, 2022. He was nearing his 86
th
Birthday.
Preceding his death were his parents, Clarence Burton Barrett, and Margaret Elizabeth Hoy. Also preceding are his beloved siblings, and both brothers-in-law, beginning with eldest sister Margaret Barrett Guice, (and her spouse, Judge Daniel Guice, their surviving children, Carolyn, Danny2, and Barry), then elder sister Jean Barrett Murray (and her spouse Robert "Bob" Murray, and their surviving children, Don, Diane and Laurie) and younger brother William "Bill" Dale Barrett, (and his surviving spouse, Okhee Kim Barrett, and only daughter Elizabeth).
With Mr. Barrett's former wife, Sondra Lea Lane, he is survived by his three children, Daughter Martie Lee Panarelli (late spouse, David Panarelli), with their children, Angelo, David2, and Amelia Rose, and other Daughter, Kellie Lane Bearman with spouse Nigel Bearman, and their children, Max, John and Curtis, and finally his son, Robert William Barrett with spouse, Karen Barrett, and their children, Lauren, Ethan, and Peyton.
With his smooth bass baritone voice, he graced stadiums with the Star-spangled Banner, car rides and church podiums with special music. Being musically talented like his sister Margaret, he starred in local musical plays, and spent a summer in Woodstock acting and singing.
Having both elder sisters, Margaret and Jean, achieving Silver Life Master Status in Bridge, "Bob" also loved playing chess and eventually checkers, the latter being his favorite. Finding a worthy opponent became a lifelong endeavor.
He was known for his writing skills, love of the Asian culture, mastering ping pong, and arguing the Scriptures of the Bible. But, what he was known most for, was his love for the ocean. He shared that love and the art of sailing with his younger brother, "Bill". Sailing and camping together on the Horn and Ship Islands off of Biloxi, MS were among his most fond memories.
Toward the end of his life, he peaceably read the Bible for comfort, and looked forward to seeing his late beloved family members and friends, in the Kingdom of Heaven, where there is no more pain, nor sorrow, and ALL is forgiven and made NEW...amen.
His children would like to personally thank "Billy" who worked near where Mr. Barrett lived, for being a good friend to him in his final days, and also Dr. Dihn, one of many of his Vietnam friends who loved him dearly.
