Obituary

Ritchie Terrell Moffett, 46, was born December 5, 1973, in Gulfport, Mississippi. After a life of service to the Gulfport community, Ritchie departed this life, Friday, May 8, 2020.

"Ritchie", as he was affectionately known by many was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. A community servant, culinary extraordinaire, and faithful friend, Ritchie was a graduate of Gulfport High School. After entering the workforce, he gained employment with Harrison County, serving with Harrison County's District 4 for 17 years. Ritchie was a member of Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Gulfport. His God given musical talent lead him into the music ministry, serving in various churches as their musician.

Ritchie was what most would call a Renaissance man, having an array of gifts and talents. His exploratory and adventurous personality gave way to worldwide travels, as he loved experiencing other cultures and cuisines. Ritchie's bright and inquisitive personality led him to a life exploration. If he could dream it, he was sure to garner the fortitude to make it happen. He was the owner and operator of Bistro 2020, where he curated and catered some of the most amazing dishes.

Nothing brought Ritchie more joy than bringing people together with good food and soulful music. Through Ritchie's life, citizens of Gulfport and beyond have experienced love, light, laughter, and loyalty in their truest form. Family members and friends across the Mississippi Gulf Coast are indeed saddened by his earthly departure but choose to smile amidst this loss. It has been said that to live a life of love, adventure, laughter, and amazing memories, one must surround themselves with just that. Family and friends are forever grateful for Ritchie's gift to us. To the two amigos, continue your travels and Ritchie will meet you in the wind. Take your rest Ritchie, you have left us with amazing food and a lasting song.

Ritchie leaves to cherish his life and loving memories his loving mother, Mrs. Dinah (Arthur) McCann- Gulfport, Mississippi; a brother, Marty Washington- Knoxville, TN; a grandmother, Arleaner Washington- Gulfport, Mississippi, and a host of other relatives and lifelong friends.
