Rashon Germaine
Reynolds-Barnes
Jul 7, 2001 — Jul 1, 2025
Rashon Germaine Reynolds-Barnes, beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend, was born on July 7, 2001, in Gulfport, Mississippi, and departed this life far too soon on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in Metairie, Louisiana. He was 23 years old.
A lifetime resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Rashon was known for his bold spirit, entrepreneurial drive, and deep love for his community and family. He was the beloved son of Shermaine Reynolds and Reggie Barnes and was raised in a loving, faith-centered home. A proud Baptist, Rashon was a member of Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church.
Rashon graduated from Harrison Central High School in 2019, where he excelled both academically and athletically. He was a dedicated member of the football, baseball, and powerlifting teams, earning the respect of teammates and coaches alike for his determination and drive.
Creative and driven, Rashon had a passion for music and was a naturally gifted artist. He channeled his talents into making music that reflected his life, dreams, and the world around him. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to create his own clothing line "High Fashion," which was more than a brand—it was an extension of his bold, expressive identity.
Outgoing, feisty, and ambitious, Rashon had a magnetic presence. He never met a stranger and left a lasting impression wherever he went. He cherished time with his special friend, De'Janei "D.J." Casey, and was a loyal, supportive presence in the lives of those he loved.
Rashon is survived by his parents, Shermaine Reynolds and Reggie Barnes; his sister, Dominique Barnes; his brothers, Tre'von Reynolds Hill and Caron Barnes; his devoted maternal grandmother, Rosie L. Dickerson; his paternal grandparents, Linda and Willie Barnes; his special "God" grandmother, Matilda Jackson; his godparents, Adriane and George Marroquin; godfather, Larry Drummor and Lovie Strong; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and close friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Though his time with us was brief, Rashon's energy, creativity, and love for life left a mark on everyone he encountered. He will be remembered always for his vibrant personality, his ambition, and the love he freely gave.
