Petriece Antonette Hayes of Wiggins, MS was born to the union of the late Lewis and Lovell Hayes. She was the youngest of 15 children. Our loving Petriece "Mook" departed this world peacefully at the tender age of 50 in her home. A special sister and "Everybody's Baby". Petriece was born with many diagnoses that were supposed to limit her life expectancy and basic daily functions. However, her devoted parents believed that WITH GOD all things are possible. Although our princess was unable to form words, we soon realized that everything she wanted to say was communicated with verbal noises, hand motions, laughs, and her beautiful eyes. Petriece loved attention from her family and friends. In her own way, she showed love towards everyone that encountered her. She learned at a young age how to set boundaries. She would pull you towards her when she wanted something or attention. When she was done with you she would push you away from her with a unforgettable laugh to follow. Petriece had a special love for her care bears. She would take care of "her babies". She did not know that just like her care bear she was the light of all our lives, our care bear. Although our hearts weren't ready, we accept the will of God. We will forever remember our princess, our baby, our Mook, our Petriece. We will continue our lives the way she lived hers, full of joy and strength.
She leaves to cherish in her memory 5 sisters and 7 brothers: Donzella Riley of Gulfport, MS, Charlie (Cynthia) Hayes of Fredericksburg, VA, John L. (Jewel) Hayes of Gulfport, MS, Daniel Hayes of Gulfport, MS, Emanuel (Joanne )Hayes of Saint Louis, MO, Corease Sims of Jackson, MS, Priscilla (Kenny) Seals of Jackson, MS, Calvin (Jackie) Hayes of Gulfport, MS, Ras Hayes of Jackson, MS, Essie (Joseph) Evans of Jackson, MS, Lisa (Rodney) Williams of Wiggins, MS, and Efelis (Donna) Hayes of Wiggins, MS and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her father Deacon Lewis Hayes, her mother, Lovell Hayes, her sister Dorthy Scarbrough, and her sister Estella Hayes.
