Obituary

Patricia Anne Nichols was born to doting parents Glover and Jessie Nichols May 23, 1949, in Bay Springs, Mississippi. She began her elementary education in Bay Springs until she moved to Gulfport where she attended North Gulfport High School and graduated in the class of 1968. Trish, as she was affectionately referred to by family and friends, was a bright and gifted student. She never met a stranger and made lifetime friends throughout these encounters. She was easy to love and gave freely of herself. She received Christ at an early age and was a member at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church under the tutelage of Pastor Reuben Paul Magee.

After graduating from high school, Trish relocated to Los Angeles, California. She trained as a Nurses Aid and Dental Assistant. The jobs she enjoyed most were in the retail industry where she was able to dress in the latest fashions and shop at a discounted rate. As fate would have it, she later returned to the South and claimed her stake in Mobile, Alabama until she finally settled down in Gulfport, Mississippi. She gained employment with Biloxi Veterans Affairs Medical Center where she retired.

Patricia was an only child for 13 years and was adored by her parents, which often left others to perceive her as spoiled. As an adult she loved being a mother to her only child, a big sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. She and her son had a special bond and if they were not on the phone with each other you could find them in each other's company. She loved hanging out with her family and friends and just having a fun time.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Derrick J. Montgomery; her grandson, LJ Montgomery; and her sister Anita Wilcox.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Four (4) brothers: James Melvin (Eula) Johnson of Lakewood, California, Willie Earl (Dorothy) Johnson of Gulfport, Mississippi, Cedric (Johnunitha) Nichols and Ronnie Nichols of Mobile, Alabama. One (1) sister, LaTaunga Nichols Wilcox of Dallas, Texas; One (1) daughter -in -love: Tiffany Montgomery, of Gulfport, Mississippi. Two (2) grandsons: Derrick Darnell (Tina) Banks of Gautier, Mississippi and Austin (Janessa) Gray of Augusta, Georgia, two (2) granddaughters: Ashley Tavern of Indianapolis, Indiana and Destini Cook of Gulfport, Mississippi. Three (3) great granddaughters: Khalonni Harvey and Calleigh Frazier of Gulfport, Mississippi, Zalia Gray of Augusta, Georgia and One (1) great grandson Taurin Banks of Prichard, Alabama. One (1) Uncle, Lawrence Pruitt of Los Angeles, California; one (1) Aunt, Willie Mae Johnson of Biloxi, Mississippi, and a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
