Patricia Lanette
Holmes Parker
May 28, 1953 — Jul 14, 2021
Gulfport
Patricia Lanette Holmes Parker, 68, was born May 28, 1953, to the late Dorothy R. Holmes and Iverson H. Holmes in Gulfport, Mississippi. After a more than 30-year stint as a Waterloo, IA resident, Patricia returned to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She departed this life, Wednesday, July 14, 2021.
Patricia, or "Trisha Mae", as she was commonly known as by family and close friends, was a graduate of 33rd Avenue High School. Following graduation, Patricia enrolled at Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana. After her time at Dillard, Patricia returned to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, obtaining employment as a Librarian with the City of Gulfport. While working as a Librarian, Patricia met a lot of people and form many personal and professional relationships. She enjoyed her job and the people she worked with.
Several years later, after working as a Librarian, Patricia decided to relocate to Waterloo, Iowa. Her time in Iowa proved to be an important one. Patricia continued to expand her family and develop as a professional. Patricia was a woman of strength, determination, and resilience. There was never a wonder about what she said, she simply said what she meant and meant what she said. Being loved by Patricia meant a lot. Those who knew Patricia, knew that her love did not come easy and if she gave you that love it was genuine and not to be taken lightly. Patricia was such a rare gem, and her absence will deeply be felt.
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior...
