Patricia Ann
Hall
Mar 9, 1951 — Mar 23, 2021
Pass Christian
Patricia Ann Hall lovingly known as "Pat" was born March 9, 1951, to Estus and Elvira Hood in Crystal Springs, MS. As a child, she was the youngest of seven children and was surrounded with love and affection. She spent much of her days playing and creating memories with her sisters and close cousins who lived close by. At a young age, she dedicated her life to Christ and was baptized at Miller Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Crystal Springs, MS. As an active member of church, Patricia was a member of the children's choir and Sunday School programs.
Raised by parents that were committed to the uplifting and the education of their children, Patricia at the age of 5, entered Lowes Chapel Elementary School. She was a smart, bright student who was full of happiness. She was very focused and excelled at her studies. As a result, educators at the school decided to promote her and move her to the second grade. Following her early years, Patricia was enrolled at William H. Holtzclaw Memorial High School.
While in high school, she continued to be focused on her studies by maintaining her honor roll status and active in extracurricular activities such as serving as a majorette in the school's band. From a young age, higher education was always a goal for her, so after graduation with honors, Patricia enrolled in school at Utica Junior College in Utica, MS, as many of her siblings had done before her. After two years, she enrolled in school at Jackson State University where she majored in Biology. While attending Jackson State University, Patricia was active in activities both socially and academically that served as the foundation of her leadership skills that served her throughout her adult life. A witty professor and apparent matchmaker saw fit to partner Patricia with a young, smart charismatic biology major, Louis Hall. Initially not swayed by his charm, she reluctantly agreed to the partnership. It didn't take long for her to see he was the love of her life. After graduation May 1972, the couple was married at Miller Springs Missionary Baptist Church on June 24, 1972, and moved to Pass Christian, MS, where they settled and established a home.
Patricia quickly established herself as a community leader in her new home, both professionally and socially. She was employed at the Social Security Administration and worked there as a committed servant for 35 years. Throughout her years of service at the Social Security Administration, Patricia worked selflessly to assist those in the community to address their needs. She was recognized by several state legislatures and community leaders for her service to the residents of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She was a faithful member of the First Missionary Baptist Church Pass Christian. There she served in various capacities over the years such as Chairperson of the Deaconess Ministry, Secretary for the Mission Ministry, Chairperson of the Benevolent Fund, and volunteered with the Food Bank. While at the church she also served as a mentor to young Christians providing strong guidance and continued encouragement. Her dedication to her community was never ending as was further reflected in her role as a member of the Pass Christian Planning Commission after Hurricane Katrina focused redeveloping the city. She was passionate about the health and wellness of others and their pursuit of happiness.
Patricia was initiated into the Theta Zeta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in 1986. Since the day Patricia joined Theta Zeta Omega, she was revered as the "Most Powerful Pearl". Patricia was a Silver Star and Life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Patricia was an avid reader. At any given moment, she could be found deep in a book and filled with happiness. The introduction of the electronic reader catapulted her into a status of master reader as she would read up to six books at time. She LOVED reading. She instilled the love of reading in her children and grandchildren. Patricia's love for travel was unmatched as toured the world with her husband and children.
She could often be found planning and researching interesting vacations and excursions for all to enjoy. Trips with her grandchildren in the RV were some of the most memorable vacations that she often spoke about.
