Patrice Lisalee
Hawthorne
May 12, 1968 — Jan 25, 2024
Patrice Lisa Lee O'Brien Hawthorne was born on May 12, 1968, to the late Andrew and Emelia O'Brien in The Port-of-Spain of Trinidad. Throughout her travels she came across the love of her life, Mark Anthony in Jackson, Mississippi. They were united in marriage in Hattiesburg, MS in 1998 and moved to Gulfport, MS to begin their beautiful family. Mark and Patrice were married for 25 years. They shared a love that only death could part.
Patrice was affectionately known by her siblings and very close friends as "Lisa" and others as "Caribbean Queen". Patrice was an amazing wife, mother, and sister. She was the epitome of a "Baseball Mom" and managed everything in her life to perfection. Her cooking was on par with her housekeeping abilities. After eating her Caribbean food, family and friends would declare "she put her foot in it". She put the balance in work/life. Her favorite saying was "goat don't make sheep". She always spoke her mind with true honesty. Patrice was indeed the life of the party. In fact, she was the party.
Patrice lived a beautiful life and poured everything she had into her family. She was a true servant. Having been justified by her faith in Christ, she transitioned from this life to her eternal home on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Memorial Hospital.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Emelia O'Brien; two brothers, Don Charles and Dave Charles; and her mother- in- law, Charlene Newton Barnes.
She leaves to cherish her legacy and memories her husband, Mark Anthony Hawthorne; two sons D'Artagnan Hawthorne (Alexandra) and Dainagon Hawthorne; one daughter, Amani Grace Hawthrone (Rayna); and one grandson, Knowledge Yahseen Leone; five sisters, Ann-Marie Charles, Carla O'Brien Clay (Hai), Tracey O'Brien (Barry), Karen O'Brien and Rachel Charles Alexander (Paul); six brothers, Shannon Charles, Colin O'Brien, Andrew O'Brien Jr.(Angela), Marlon O'Brien (Venessa), and Angus O'Brien (Ivanna), Sean O'Brien (Aida); eight sisters-in-laws, Pamela Newton, Wilmetta Thomas (Norris), Evelyn Barnes, Deon Barnett, Mary (Desma), Lenora (Rev. Steven), Robbie McGriggs and Wanda Bridges; four brothers Frederick Hawthorne (Michele), Shawn Barnes (Brenda), Bobby Pullin (Thomasa), and Derrick Pullins (Queenie); two aunts, Betty Newton and Shirley Ann Newton; and A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Patrice lived a life of love, happiness, and recently rededicated her life to Christ. She talked about her love, faith, and trust in God but would always remark that she was a work in progress. In death the work is done-it is finished--she is with the Father.
It is well with my soul. There are no goodbyes for us. Rest in peace..
