Michael James
Perkins
Aug 5, 2013 — Jun 23, 2026
There are some people who leave an imprint on every heart they touch, no matter how many
years they are given. At just 12 years old, Michael James Perkins lived a life filled with joy,
curiosity, laughter, and love. Though his time on earth was far too short, the memories he
created will remain in the hearts of those who loved him forever.
A lifelong resident of the Gulfport area, Michael was a student at Central Middle School,
where his bright personality and adventurous spirit made him a friend to many. He was
known for being vibrant, curious, energetic, and always eager to explore the world around
him. Whether he was spending time with family, enjoying school, or playing Roblox, he
embraced every moment with excitement and a smile that could brighten anyone's day.
Raised in the Baptist faith, Michael was deeply loved by his family and brought
immeasurable happiness to everyone blessed to know him. His gentle heart, playful nature,
and endless sense of adventure reminded those around him to find joy in life's simple
moments. He had a way of making others laugh, asking thoughtful questions, and filling
every room with life and warmth.
Michael is preceded in death by his brother, Jimmie Amos, IV.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving parents, Jimmie Amos III and Lyric
Perkins; his brothers, Malachi Perkins, Marvelous Perkins, Branson Amos, Jayceon Amos, and
Kane Amos; his guardians, Kim White and Vickie Wobil; his maternal grandparents, Bretner
Perkins and Christopher Walker; his paternal grandparents, Tammy Woulard and Jimmie
Amos Jr. (Cindy); his great-grandparents, Jennette Wright, Leroy Walker, Michael James,
Jimmie and Elizabeth Amos; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family
members, classmates, teachers, and friends who will forever treasure the time they shared
with him.
Although our hearts ache with the loss of such a young and beautiful soul, we find comfort in
knowing that his love, laughter, and light will never be forgotten. His legacy is not measured
by the number of years he lived, but by the countless smiles he created, the love he freely
gave, and the lives he touched.
