Mr. Michael Ray Barkum, 59, of Gulfport, Mississippi departed this life on Sunday, October 14, 2018. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Mr. Barkum spent a great part of his life on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He was a member of Haven Chapel United Methodist Church of Gulfport, was a 1976 graduate of Gulfport High School, and worked at Indal Aluminum Plant in Gulfport. Mr. Barkum enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, and movies. Words cannot express how much he loved his family. Mr. Barkum will be missed dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Theoplies Barkum.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Ms. Mary Jane Taylor Barkum, his daughter, Tehirah Barkum, Metairie, Louisiana, a son, Michael (Signoret) Barkum, Atlanta, Georgia; two sisters, Joan (Labot) Parker, Gulfport, Mississippi, Hazel Ann (John) Beavers, Gulfport, Mississippi, three brothers, Edward (Velma) Barkum, Rev. Nathaniel (Teresa) Barkum, both of Gulfport, Mississippi, Theoplies Demond (Tomekia) Barkum, San Antonio, Texas, 4 grandchildren and a host of extended family members and friends.
