Mrs. Mary "Pooka" Fountaine, 70 of Gulfport passed away October 7, 2018. She was a member of Mercy Seat Baptist Church and was retired from the Chatanooga Glass Plant.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Fountaine; her mother Lula Mae Henderson George and her father, Calvin Jackson.

Pooka as she was affectionately known by many, enjoyed fishing and was known to catch, cook, eat, and share her catchings.

She is survived by her daughter, Dena Jones; one brother, Horace (Mary) George; a sister, Evelyn Champ; step-son, Fred Fountaine; a step-daughter, Fredia (Carl) Caldwell; an aunt, Lena (Bud) Dunnigan; uncle, Lawrence (Atty. Carol) Henderson; four grandchildren, Deeanna Jackson, De'Ondre Davis, Robin Davis, Morris McKie; a sister-in-law, Verhonda Tims; five great grandchildren, Deniyah, De'Ondre, Elijah, Emanuel, Reaghan; three special foster grands; two special nieces, Kecia Champ Walker, Tamiko (Craig) Watts and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
