Marshall Barnes, 70 passed from this life into eternal life on December 24th, 2020 in Gulfport, Mississippi. He was born February 3rd, 1950 in Prentiss, Mississippi to the late Samuel Barnes and the late Luella White Barnes. Marshall attended and graduated from Prentiss Institute. He later attended truck driver school and became a certified truck driver. Marshall was a faithful member of Rockhill Church of Christ in Mt. Olive, Mississippi.

Marshall was employed as a driver for Gulf Concrete for many years. He enjoyed partaking in delicious meals while watching television in his down time. Marshall was a loving, gentle and quiet person who spoke very seldom. He will be remembered as a great protector and provider for his family. He adored his family, and his grandchildren were known to have a special place in his heart.

Marshall is preceded in death by his father, Samuel Barnes; mother, Luella White Barnes; daughter, Tameka Dent; two brothers, Samuel Barnes, Jr., Oliver Barnes; one sister, Lillian Alfred; two grandchildren.

His memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife, Ethel Barnes; three sons, Jeffrey Dent, Michael Barnes, Astin Barnes; two daughters, Danielle Barnes, Janae Smart; eight brothers, Vernon (Mary)Barnes, Larry Barnes, Harry (Sharon)Barnes, CJ (Sharon)Barnes, Ray (Sheryl)Barnes, Gerald (Bonita)Barnes, Willie Barnes, Daniel Drones; one sister, Mary Alice Ross; twelve grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, and other family members.
