Obituary

Lynn Nathaniel Willis was born November 30, 1956 in Gulfport, Mississippi. He is the son of Mr. Willie Willis and Mrs. Bernice Willis. Mr. Willis was reared in the Baptist faith and confessed one Lord, one faith, and one baptism for the forgiveness of his sins. On Sunday February 27, 2022, Christ whispered softly and Lynn entered into eternal rest.

Lynn was educated within the Harrison County School District and attended Harrison Central High School. After his time at Harrison Central, Lynn entered the work force. Lynn's career began as a Longshoreman in Gulfport. After working a short time in Atlanta, Georgia doing masonry, he returned to the Mississippi Gulf Coast where he continued his career as a Longshoreman for the International Longshoreman's Association, Local #1303 (ILA). Lynn was employed with the ILA over 40 years until he met the qualifications to retire.

Like many Southern men, Lynn was an avid sportsman, who enjoyed watching any sports game on tv. As an adult, Lynn was a dependable hardworking man, who loved his family. He enjoyed fishing and looked forward to playing cards and dominoes with his brothers, cousins, and friends. These are a few simple pleasures and they are a few things that brought joy to Lynn's life. One of the most enjoyable characteristics about Lynn was his humorous personality. He was very funny and loving. This fun and loving personality didn't come without his strength. Lynn was a strong man and he did a very good job at making his family feel safe. Lynn's presences is going to be dearly missed, but the Bible teaches us that the steps of a GOOD man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Lynn was a GREAT man and the family is comforted in the fact that Christ has welcomed him into sweet rest.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Bernice Willis, Sr., a brother, Edward Charles Willis and a sister, Velma Willis Palmer.

Lynn leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Mrs. Jackqlun Willis; Three daughters, Erica (Joseph) Hall, Tonya White and Sheena (Earl) Lloyd; two sons, Danny Evans, Jr. and Anthony (Kentessa) Moore all of Gulfport, Mississippi; Four sisters, Eunice (Victor) Tillis, Linda Montgomery, Beatrice (Patricia Foster) Ball and Shelia Ball all of Gulfport, Mississippi.  Five brothers, Willie (Sandra) Willis, Jr., Calvin (Violet) Willis, Raynard (Tina) Willis, Anthony Ball (Tara) Smith and Don Carlos Willis all of Gulfport, Mississippi; twenty-nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Lynn will be greatly missed, and the memories of his life will forever be in our hearts.
