Loretta Moore-Howell was born to the late Gladys Ducksworth and John D Shoemate on January 10, 1956, in Laurel, Ms. She met and married Charles Moore and then later in life remarried Bill Howard. While living in Jackson, she was a Jehovah Witness church member. She spent years working as a patient care associate until she became ill. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by her brother Jerry Shoemate.

She leaves to cherish her memories to four daughters, Telma (Rhonda) Shoemate- Jones of Jacksonville, Florida; Charlotte (David) Shoemate-Carter of Gulfport MS; Kimberly Moore-Coleman of Gulfport MS; and Latasha Moore-Metcalfe of Biloxi MS; Two sons, Charles Shoemate of Jackson, MS; and Christopher Moore of the Arizona area. One Brother Joseph (Shirley) Shoemate of Alabama. Three Sisters Josephine Shoemate, Pascagoula MS; Rachel Dent of Atlanta GA; Beverly (Katrina) Shoemate of Moss Point MS. Fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren
