Obituary

Leslie M. James was born June 5, 1962 in Long Beach, Mississippi. She is the daughter of Mr. James Flemings and Ms. Theresa Thomas. Leslie was a member and she attended Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, Long Beach under the leadership of Rev. Robert L. Landor. She firmly confessed Jesus Christ as her Savior and coming King. Saturday February 5, 2022, Christ whispered softly and Leslie entered into sweet rest.

Leslie was educated within the Long Beach School District. While attending Long Beach High School, her athleticism gained her local recognition as a standout basketball and softball player. Although she was very talented on the court and field, this loving spirit was a hometown girl and so the Mississippi Gulf Coast is where she remained until her earthly departure.

For those of you who knew Leslie on a personal level knows that she was one of the most caring and nurturing people you will come in contact with. Her jovial personality was simply a breath of fresh air on any given day. Leslie was such a blessing to be about, if fact, her family and those close to her gave her the name of "Our Sweet Lady". If bring happiness into the lives of those that she loved and care for wasn't enough, Leslie's love of food and cooking was the icing on the cake. She gained so much joy cooking and trying new foods, especially with her family. The Bibles teaches us that there is a time a season for all things and as they prepare to lay their mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to rest, the family pauses to honor God for the seasons that He has blessed them to share life with Ms. Leslie M. James.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James Flemings and Ms. Theresa Thomas

Leslie leaves to cherish her loving memories; five children, Letricia T. James, Jerry M. James, Tiffany M. James- all of Gulfport, Mississippi, Ebony S. Thomas- stationed in Fort Carson, Colorado, and Sylvia R. May- Stationed in Panama City, Florida; seven brothers, Charles James (Gwendolyn)- Gautier, Mississippi, Richard James (Bertha), Anthony James- both of Gulfport, Mississippi, Kenneth McLaurin- Flint, Michigan, Russell Thomas- Long Beach, Mississippi, Lawrence Flemings- Sacramento, California, Percy Robinson- Gulfport, Mississippi; 16 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; other relatives and friends!

She will be greatly missed, and the memories of her life will be in our hearts forever!
