Mrs. Leona Flot Jacobs, 70, of Pass Christian, Mississippi, was born in November of 1957, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She departed this life, in the comfort of her home, Sunday, March 24, 2020.
Mrs. Jacobs was a Mississippi Gulf Coast resident for more than 40 years. She was a graduate of Rosenwald High School, New Orleans, Louisiana. Mrs. Jacobs was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, DeLisle, Mississippi. She was very active within the church and its ministries. She served in the church transport ministry, driving the van for those who needed transportation to and from church. Additionally, Mrs. Jacobs was a member of the United Methodist Women, a national organization whose mission is to foster spiritual growth, develop leaders and advocate for justice.
There is a seemingly prophetic revelation that is to be gleaned from COOKING, an enjoyment of Mrs. Jacobs! It takes a skilled, visionary, with great stewardship to use raw products and create something that touches the physical body and soul. Mrs. Jacobs had this innate ability to take what she had, or was given and create something that was simply enjoyable. This idea did not just happen in her kitchen, if fact, it was the case for her life. Mrs. Jacobs rarely complained, she simply took what she was given and made it enjoyable. Her family will miss her dearly, but find comfort in the testimony of her life. It is through the life of Mrs. Jacobs that her family, loved ones, and many friends understand that life is such a precious gift, you simply have take what you have, or are given and make it enjoyable.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Houston Robert Flot and Mrs. Vivian Pavagau Flot; and two brothers, Leonard Flot and Calvin Flot.
Mrs. Jacobs leaves to cherish her life and memory her loving husband, Mr. Stephen Jacobs, a son, Derrick (Chinetta) Jacobs- DeLisle, Mississippi; a daughter, Candace Labat- Bay St. Louis, Mississippi; two brothers, Malcom Flot- DeLisle, Mississippi, Carroll (Marlene) Flot- Abita Springs, Louisiana; two sisters, Sherry Flint- Abita Springs, Louisiana, Merlin Scruggs (Don)- Cerritos, California; a Sister-in-law, Cristella Flot- Abita Springs, Louisiana; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many lifelong friends.
