Pass Christian

Obituary

Ms. LaVerne Harrington, 56, of Pass Christian, Mississippi departed this life, Tuesday August 27, 2019, surrounded by family, friends and loved ones. LaVerne, or Doodlebug, as she was affectionately called by her family, was a graduate of Bay High School. She was a member of Christian Fellowship located in Gulfport, Mississippi, where she attended until her health began to fail. LaVerne was the embodiment of a daughter, fiance', mother and friend.

Caring, inspirational, loyal and loving are characteristics that Ms. LaVerne's family crowned her with as they reminisce on the beautiful life she lived. To say that she loved her family would be an understatement. Ms. LaVerne's family was a major part of her life. She knew and believed in the importance of family and through her life her children and those who knew her gleaned from that valuable belief. Blood relation was not the determining factor of family for Ms. LaVerne. Family members recall times when individuals would come over and instantly become a part of the family.

The book of Proverbs speaks to the characteristic given to a virtuous woman. A woman loyal to her family, motivating and dedicated to the well being thereof. These qualities were just the tip of the iceberg for Ms. Laverne. There wasn't anything that she wouldn't do for her family and through her actions this notion was solidified. Within our Christian faith we are encouraged to let our light shine before men, so that they may see our good works and glorify the Father. Ms. Laverne did just that and though she has transitioned to her eternal resting place, her light continues to shine in the hearts of those who knew and loved her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her father, Mr. Albert Laneaux, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Mrs. Irene Laneaux; a loving fiance, Mr. Henry B. Watson; two sons, Ellic Laneaux(Yashenma), Stanley Magee, Jr.; three daughters, Vanette Saucier, LaConya (Larry) Burks, Latoya Johnson; three brothers, Sherman Gardner, Albert Laneaux, Jr., Brian Laneaux, Sr.; three sisters, Alberta Laneaux, Eliska Spencer; Laura Palode; ten godchildren, Kenya Laneaux, Cedric, Ashley, Kristian, Kenya Holmes, John, Albert, Jr., Brianna, Keara, TrayVon; 22 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
