Kevin Dwight Woods Sr., lovingly known as "Coach" departed this life and entered eternal rest on July 3, 2023. He was the 7th blessing born to late Warren and Dorothy Woods of Pass Christian, MS. He confessed Christ at an early age. He was baptized at Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church where Dr. Harry L. Toussaint presides. He had fond memories of singing in the choir. His favorite song "He Keeps on Proving Himself" which happens to be the song he led in the choir. YES, he could sing to! He attended Front Yard Outreach Ministries in Gulfport, MS during the pandemic where his sister, Minister Cynthia Joyner is the overseer. He was faithful in his attendance, his faith in God, and it grew tremendously.

Kevin graduated from Pass Christian High School in 1980. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force where he served his country for four years. He returned to his hometown where he established his lifelong career with the Pass Christian School District. He held numerous positions as an Educator and successfully completed 30 plus years of service to the district. He also was a pillar of the Community and dedicated 35 years to the Recreational League of Pass Christian. Kevin achieved an abundance of All-Conference Athletic Awards and Recognitions in both Football and Basketball throughout his coaching career. He was inducted into the National Football Foundation Hall of Fame of MS Gulf Coast Chapter, in 2016. There is no doubt that the love and dedication to the children of the Community was touched by his amazing spirit. His authentic ability to say exactly what you needed to hear was pure. Kevin's legacy will live on through every life he has touched near and far.

Kevin married his High School sweetheart, the love of his life, Romelda "Missy" (Dedeaux) Woods. They were married 46 years and to their union three children were born, Kevin Jr., Kalvin, and Kenyetta. Kevin loved his family and instilled in them God first, Family second and all else will follow.  In the words of his children, "Daddy was our Rock, Our Hero and provided an Amazing life and for that we say Job Well Done!"

Kevin was preceded in death by his first-born son, Kevin Jr., his parents Warren, and Dorothy Woods, one brother, Warren Woods, Jr., and two sisters, Carolyn Ann Woods, and Naomi Woods Harris.

Kevin leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Missy, his son, Kalvin (Obreisha) Woods; his daughter, Kenyetta (Jonathan) Woods Jones; Seven grandchildren Kaleigh, Kameron, Anthony Jr., A'marie, Kamora, Kalvin Jr., and Dai'Shaun.  He also leaves to cherish his memory, his sisters: Cynthia Woods Joyner, and Marcia (Lish) Holloway; his brothers: Otis (Ellen) Woods, Eric "Scottie" (Monica) Woods, and Anthony (Liza) Woods; three special friends; David Rush, Michael Hall, and Celeste Paige, his Athletic staff
