Kater William
Parish
Feb 21, 1951 — Oct 24, 2024
Kater William Parish Jr. was born February 21, 1951 to the late Kater W. Parish Sr. and Dora Alice Parish (Whitlock) passed away peacefully on October 24th 2024. He was a devoted member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Saucier, MS where he served faithfully as an usher, demonstrating his dedication to his faith and community until his health failed him.
Kater's presence was magnetic, along with his whit, charm, and style of dress earned him the name "Funk" early in life. He was a man of great strength and determination, always willing to lend a helping hand.
He is preceded in death by both parents and one son, Derrick Bernard Baylis. He is survived by three daughters Deidra (Patrick) Doyle, Arlanderia Banks of Atlanta, GA, LaShawn Clark of Rahway, NJ; one son Aurelius "Tran" Parish; one sister Dorothy Parish; four brothers Gregory (Dorothy) Parish, Eddie (Teresa) Parish, James Parish, and Jamal Parish; fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two bonus daughters Rachel and Whitney Kennedy, a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
We celebrate his life and will always remember his infectious smile and unforgettable laughter. He will surely be missed but never forgotten.
