The hourglass, with its sand of time has slowly but surely spilled its content. With the passing of the last of sand, went the life of a friend and loved one, Joseph Calvin Johnson, Jr. Passing into eternity, when life has been sweet, is as going from one room into a larger and more beautiful one. The essence of the one blends into the beauty of the other.

Joseph was born July 6, 1928 to the late Joseph Calvin Johnson, Sr., and Ida Fields Johnson. He departed this life April 17, 2021. Joseph owned and operated a personal Janitorial Service, worked at Gulf National Bank and later Peoples Bank, where he retired.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Earlean Moore Johnson; his brother, George Johnson, Sr.; his sister, Maggie McInnis; two daughters, Carol Sanders and Erma Willis; and a son, Joseph Calvin Johnson, III; four grandchildren, James Brown, Sr., Keisha Johnson, Valeria Johnson, and Taneka Johnson.

His loving memories will forever linger in the hearts of his sons, David Johnson, Gregory Johnson, Kevin Johnson, and Jerrell Johnson; his daughters, Glenda Broadnax, Sandra Carter, Barbara Moffett, and Lisa Johnson; a sister, Ernestine Norman; 17 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
