John F.
Singleton
Jul 17, 1957 — Jan 2, 2023
Mr. John Felix Singleton, Sr., or Paw Paw, as he was affectionally known, transitioned to his heavenly home on the eve of January 2, 2023, at the age of 65 after reminiscing with one of his heartbeats Sydney. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Eunice Singleton; a daughter, Shonette Singleton; and a brother, Bruce Singleton.
John was born in Bay St. Louis on July 17, 1957. He was the third son of Milton and Eunice Singleton, Sr. He was baptized in the Catholic Faith. John attended St. Rose De Lima and St. Stanislaus Catholic Schools and after graduation he attended Pearl River Community College.
He then began his career as a maintenance technician at DuPont, until he retired in 1999, after 20+ years. Being a restless retiree, he continued to be active in the community working in the voting polls.
But his passion was being a mechanic, working on transmissions and fixing vintage cars, of which he was most known for his Corvettes. He loved Cruzin' the Coast and its events. Everyone knew you could ask 'Mr. John' anything about cars and he would gladly help. His first love was his family; traveling, teaching all his grandkids to swim, and enjoying life. John loved being there for his children, even volunteering as a chaperone for CYO trips and serving as a carpool driver as he faithfully attended baseball and softball games.
He leaves to celebrate his life, his wife of 34 years, Sandra Singleton; two aunts, Vivian Cooper and Alice Altimus; six children, John (Jammie) Singleton, Jr., Denver CO, Jevon Singleton, Chakita Singleton and Felicia Harper, Pass Christian, MS, Joshua Johnson, Diamondhead, MS, and Devon (Nikki) Biggs, Waveland, MS, twelve spoiled grandchildren; Michael (Ashely), Ciara, Jordan, Sydney, Jaden, Josiah, Jamison, Jaxon, Jevon, Jr., DaShaun, Trenton and Kingston; two sisters, Gilda Hayes, Pass Christian, MS, Venessa (Iolas) Ducksworth, Waveland, MS, a brother, Milton (Vonda) Singleton, Jr., Detroit, MI and a Godchild, Lakasia Ducksworth, Bay St. Louis, MS.
