John Derek Anderson (35) was born on April 2, 1987, to his
loving parents, John and Jeanine Hayes Anderson, in Wiesbaden,
Germany. He left this world to be with his Creator on
Wednesday, May 18, 2022.
At an early age, Derek accepted Jesus Christ as his personal
Savior and was baptized in Lawton, OK, where his father was
stationed in the Army. He received his secondary education from
Gulfport Public Schools and graduated from Gulfport High
School in 2006. Derek was employed at Cerbide Inc. of Gulfport
and was a cryptocurrency investor. He was also a Master Mason.
Derek enjoyed sports and excelled in all which he participated in and was a fan of the New
Orleans Saints. Derek, also known as "DJ Sauce," was passionate about music. He
produced music and wrote beats for various clients, most recently for ESPN. Derek was
humorous but had a quiet demeanor. He had a heart for the less fortunate and was always
willing to help others. He loved to eat, especially chocolate chip cookies. Derek dearly
loved his parents and grandmother.
His paternal grandparents, John and Ruth Anderson, Sr., maternal grandfather Luther C.
Hayes, and his older brother, Brandon Anderson, preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memories are his parents, John and Jeanine Anderson; maternal
grandmother, Louise Hayes; his girlfriend, Josie Sewell, and her son, Jayden, all of
Gulfport, MS; uncles, Wayne (Gabriel) Anderson of Germany; Gerald Anderson of
Gulfport, MS; Derrick Anderson of Detroit, MI, and Roy Anderson; aunts, Joyce (David)
Legier, Debra (Andrew) Lagarde, Min. Sharon (Pastor Allen) Jenkins, all of Gulfport, MS;
Betty Parker, Kenyatta Anderson, and Thelma Dockett, all of Detroit, MI; and Terry (Bryan)
Farrell of Saginaw, MI; a niece, Brooklynn Jeanine Anderson of Fortworth, TX, and many
other relatives and dear friends.
