Obituary

Jayson Deshawn Evans, lovingly known as "Jay," passed away on February 5, 2025, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at the age of 26. Born on October 5, 1998, in Biloxi, Mississippi, Jayson brought love, humor, warmth, and energy to those around him throughout his life.

Jayson worked at Home Depot for two years, where he served as an appliance manager. His dedication and hard work were evident in everything he did. Beyond his career, Jayson had a deep love for the outdoors and animals. From childhood through adulthood, he found joy in fishing and spending time in nature. As a child, he loved watching wrestling and attending local WWE events with his grandfather and his cousin, Maury. They also enjoyed going to Monster Jam to watch monster trucks roar across the arena. Whenever and wherever Jayson wanted to go, he knew his grandfather would be available and willing to take him. Basketball was another passion of Jayson's; he cherished playing with friends and listening to music.

Faith played an essential role in Jayson's life. Baptized as a child, he later sought to deepen his relationship with God as he grew older. His kindness extended beyond his lifetime—Jayson was an organ donor and was able to save three lives at the time of his passing.

Jayson was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wilson Evans, Jr. and Nettie Evans, and his great-grandparents, Wilson Evans, II, Ruth Breland Evans, and Bernice Griffin.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved son, Elias Wilson Joe Evans of Lake Geneva, WI; mother, Wynter Evans of Long Beach, MS; sisters, Asiana and Ashlee Thompkins of Long Beach, MS; uncle, Wilson "Trey" (Christy) Evans of Daphne, AL; partner, Maria Morris of Lake Geneva, WI; and her daughter Emily Elise Morris, who had a special place in Jayson's heart. He also leaves many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends to carry on his memory.

Jay's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his legacy bring comfort and inspiration to all who were touched by his presence.
