Obituary

Bro. Jaylen De'Antayvious Keys (21), affectionately known

as "J-Boogie," passed away at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport,

Mississippi, and entered into eternal rest with his Heavenly

Father on Saturday, June 20, 2026. Born on August 1, 2004, in

Southaven, Mississippi, to Angie Keys Gill and Derrick Gill,

Jaylen's time on earth was brief, but the love, joy, and

memories he shared will be cherished forever.

In 2022, Jaylen graduated from Long Beach High School

where he participated in football and track and field. He

continued his love for football as a Gulf Coast Raider.

After high school, Jaylen attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College before

following his passion for barbering at Chris' Beauty College. He completed the barbering

program in 2025 and started his own barber business. Known for his strong work ethic and

fashion sense, he took great pride in serving his clients and building lasting relationships.

Most importantly, Jaylen accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. On February 11,

2024, he was baptized alongside his mother, Angie, and his brother, Dereon. He faithfully

attended FMBC, Men's Ministry events, and willingly served wherever he was needed.

Jaylen was known for his bright smile, kind heart, generous spirit, and love for family and

friends. He enjoyed football, basketball, gaming, collecting Jordans, clapping along with

the Praise Team, and bringing joy to those around him. Emmanuel was one of his top songs.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jerry Leon Keys, Sr.

Jaylen leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents, Derrick and Angie Gill of Long

Beach, Mississippi; six brothers, Dereon Gill of Long Beach, Mississippi, Derriun Daniel

and Devin Daniel of Tunica, Mississippi, Aekavious Sears of Memphis, Tennessee, and
