Jack "Ricky"
Wesby Jr.
May 31, 1956 — Mar 22, 2026
Staff Sergeant Jack "Rickey" Wesby Jr., a man of strength, dedication, and unwavering love for his family, was born on May 31, 1956, in Memphis to the late Jack Wesby Sr. and Leola "Johnson" Wesby.
After graduating from Long Beach High School, Jack answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. During his time in service, he demonstrated honor, discipline, and commitment; qualities that would define his life both in and out of uniform.
While serving in the Army, Jack met the love of his life, Vickey Harmon. The two were united in marriage in December of 1979, building a strong and loving foundation that would bless them with three children: Daveon Wesby, Derrick Wesby, and Danielle Wesby. His legacy continues through his six cherished grandchildren: Melrose Tamaro, Ka'Phi Wesby, Eluis Tamaro, Mayala Tamaro, Kario Wesby, and Travis Wesby, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Jack was also surrounded by the love of his siblings: four sisters, Patricia Adams of Georgia, Angela Wesby of Mississippi, Deborah Owens of Mississippi, and Bella Dedeaux of Mississippi; and one brother, Albert Dedeaux of Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jack and Leola Wesby, and his brother, Harvey Wesby.
A man deeply rooted in family, Jack leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones who will forever cherish his memory, his wisdom, and the love he so freely gave.
Sergeant Jack "Ricky" Wesby Jr. was called home to be with the Lord on March 22, 2026, in Stockton, CA. Though he has departed this earthly life, his legacy of service, love, and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
