Helen Francis Butler was born September 17, 1948, in Gulfport, MS to Robert and Annie Bell Young. She was the oldest of 8 children. Helen was a woman of many talents, including sewing, ceramic making, baking, and cooking. She served as a Nursing Assistant at the Gulfport VA and Harrison County Health Department. She joined in holy matrimony with Denois A. Butler Sr in September 1975. From their union they share six beautiful children: Dianna (Derl) Lang of DeSoto, TX, Patrice Gholar of Gulfport, MS, Simone (Carnell) Travis of Pass Christian, MS, Demetria Kenyetta Butler (R.I.P.), Denaya Tinika Butler of Stockton, CA, and Denois (Racheal) Butler Jr of Gulfport, MS.

She will be missed by her husband of 49 years, Denois Sr; her children, Simone, Denaya, and Denois Jr; her grandchildren, Chelsea, Sydney, Julian, Amer, Kaydence, and Jaxson; her great-grandchild, Chloe; her siblings, Mertis (Benny) Jones, Marie Carlene (Eugene) Cochran, Eva (Webster) Robertson, Robert Wayne (Lorainne) Young, Andre (Hilda) Young, and Terrell Jean (Jerry) Brown; as well as a multitude of extended family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Demetria Kenyetta Butler, her parents, Robert and Annie Bell Young, and her brother, Pat Jordan.
