Gerald L
Woulard Sr.
Aug 1, 1941 — Dec 30, 2022
To the union of Jerry T. Woulard and Bernice Bennett Cooley was born on August 1, 1941, Gerald Lawrence Woulard, affectionately known to special friends as "Mo Scotia." Gerald spent his earlier years in Wiggins, MS, later, his family moved to Gulfport, where he graduated in 1959 from 33rd Avenue High School as a Trojan. He obtained a bachelor's degree from the University of Chicago. Over the years, he had various jobs, but his favorite was driving "L Train" with the Chicago Transit Authority. He retired from his career at Turnbull Enterprise in Gulfport. He departed this earth on December 30, 2022.
He was a faithful member of Little Rock MB Church, where he served as President of the male Chorus, Trustee, and church custodian, and he was very meticulous about his custodial duties. He was always willing to help when asked or called upon.
One of his favorite pastimes was to sit in his self-constructed man cave. He was a man of many talents, from carpentry to cooking. He loved to share his special meals with others, and he loved his community as he would drop off bags of greens and bananas to whoever needed them.
Gerald was preceded in death by grandparents; Moss and Lillie John Bennett, parents; Jerry T. Woulard and Bernice Bennett Cooley, and brother; Kenneth Barnes.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his loving wife and partner for over 30 Years; Claudette Hoskins-Woulard, three brothers; George (Loretta) Woulard of TX, Rev. Terance (Stefannie) Cooley of IA, and Daryll Cooley of FL, two sisters; Angela Johnson of VA, Dinisher Cooley of OH, one son; Gerald Woulard Jr., one daughter; Ingrid N. Feagin both of Gulfport, three granddaughters; Ciarra Woulard of LA, Brittney (Kyle) Menina-Anderson of MD, Meshaun Stubbs of FL, four great granddaughter's, firstborn nephew; Reginald "Twyla" Barnes of CA, and a host of nieces, nephews, and special children. Although ALL the children who passed through his life were endearing, he adopted Trey Scott and his family as his own.
