Obituary

Ester Mae Acker was born on February 28, 1936, in Kiln, Mississippi,
to the late Lexie and Tillie Mae Haynes. At an early age, she accepted
Christ and was baptized at First Missionary Baptist Church in Kiln,
where she remained a faithful and devoted member throughout her life.
Ester was raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she attended school
and developed the strong values and caring spirit that would define her
life. Determined to serve others, she pursued higher education at Pearl
River Community College, earning her nursing degree. She dedicated
many years of compassionate service to the patients and families at
Hancock Medical Center in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, where she
worked faithfully until her retirement.

Outside of her career, Ester found great joy in life's simple blessings.
She loved shopping, especially for flowers, and was an avid gardener.
Her flower gardens reflected the beauty, patience, and care she poured
into everything she did. She could often be found tending to her plants,
creating colorful spaces that brought happiness to all who visited her
home.

On June 16, 2026, God called Ester home to eternal rest. Surrounded
by His love and grace, she was relieved of all earthly burdens and
entered everlasting peace. While her presence will be deeply missed, her
family finds comfort in knowing that she is resting safely in the arms of
the Lord.

Ester was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, and friend. She cherished her family above all else
and leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, faith, and dedication that
will continue to inspire generations to come.
She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Moses Hill, Sr., and
Louis Acker; brother, Louis Haynes; sister, Mazie Haynes, and daughter,
Vanessa Hill.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories and celebrate her life:
her daughters, Christine Narcisse (Stephen) and Debra Acker; her
sons, Kevin Hill, Sr. (Deborah) and Moses Hill, Jr. (Shirley); nine
grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild;
and a host of beloved nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and dear
friends.

Though she has departed this earthly life, the love she shared, the lives
she touched, and the memories she created will remain forever in the
hearts of all who knew and loved her.
