Ernestine McDonald, age 76, transitioned from this life on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, in Gulfport, Mississippi. With a heart full of grace and a life marked by spiritual depth and honesty, Ernestine lived each day with kindness, generosity, and an unwavering love for her children and family. She was insightful and wise. Her gentle spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary "Sugar Pie" Conner James; father, Ernest James Sr.; Uncle, Willie Smith; ex-Husband Eddie McDonald, brother in law, Michael Parker; brothers, Ernest "Bubba" James Jr. and Joseph "Pop" Conner; sister, Oreda Conner Smith; nephew, Bennie Ingram; her beloved daughter, Sherri "Missy" McDonald.

Ernestine's memory lives on in the hearts of her children, Derek "Mac" McDonald (Melissa) and Kesha McDonald, both of Gulfport, MS; stepdaughter, Sharuthai "Shirl" Robinson of Gulfport, MS; and her devoted sisters, Velma James Lewis, Barbara Conner Parker, and Annie Conner Davis all of Gulfport, MS; and Linda Conner Ingram (Bernard) of Thibodeaux, LA.

She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren-Chrissy, Devyn, Sydney, and Derek "DJ"-five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will carry her love forward.

Ernestine chose not to have a funeral or memorial service.
