Eleanor Barnes, 72, of Gulfport, Mississippi departed this life August 19, 2020 while surrounded by her loving family. She attended New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Gulfport where she was an usher. Mrs. Barnes worked for many years and retired from Gulf Coast Laundry. She was a loving wife and mother and will be most remembered by her meticulous way of keeping her home clean. She found joy in cleaning and having all things in their proper place. She enjoyed her family immensely and she will be truly missed by them.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Sarah Linnie and Vester Pickering; and one brother, Lester "Buck" Pickering.
Mrs. Barnes is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Mr. H. J. Barnes; one daughter, Cecilia Barnes, Esq.; two sons, Jonathan Barnes, Tyrus Barnes; two brothers, Ethel (Kathy) Pickering, Billy Joe (Lois) Pickering; four sisters, Merl (Dock) Booth, Curdee (Johnny) Owens, Mary Helen Gordon, Addie Dee Pickering; two grandchildren, Jaylynn (Jalen) King, Aidan Young and a great-granddaughter, Amora King.
