Obituary

Earl Trounce Conway, Sr., 88, born in Pass Christian, Mississippi on November 20, 1932, died November 20, 2020 in Gulfport, Mississippi. He was formally educated in the segregated schools of Pass Christian.  He was a member of St. Paul AME Church, Gulfport.

Earl was an entrepreneur, owning many businesses including welding and pulp wood companies, as well as being a commercial fisherman for many years. Earl "Catfish" Conway had a true love for life. He enjoyed hunting, playing poker, telling jokes, watching wrestling, fishing and taking care of animals. He always had a joke or wise crack ready for any occasion. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren who lovingly called him "Poppy."

Mr. Conway was married to the late Mary Louise Lyons Conway for 43 years and to this union six children were born, Warren, Earl Jr., Leonard, Rodney, Wanda and Shinall.
