"A beloved soul that touched many lives "
Dwight Elliott Taylor was born to Meddie (Pete) Taylor and Mary Lee Smart-Taylor on April 9, 1945, in Gulfport, MS. He attended the 33rd High School and graduated in 1963. Upon his completion of high school, Dwight made the conscious decision to enlist in the United States Army where he travelled and created life-long friendships that he affectionately talked about until his last years. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Dwight's passion for lawn care and landscaping was demonstrated in his daily work until his health failed at the age of 80.
He was very active in his church serving where needed and committed to the community that afforded him the opportunity to create an abundance of friendships with everyone he encountered. Because of his love for people, especially young adults, he often served as a great mentor to them. Dwight was known by many for his hearty, infectious laugh and the gift of telling jokes that would make the crowd laugh.
