Mr. Darrell Fortenberry, 63 , of Gulfport, Mississippi departed this life, Wednesday, June 12, 2019. Mr. Fortenberry was a Mississippi Gulf Coast resident for more than 50 years. He was a member of Freedom Christian Center, Gulfport. Mr. Fortenberry was employed with the Stennis Space Center for 14 years, where he worked in Human Resources.

To speak of Mr. Fortenberry is to speak of a Renaissance man who embodied the five wells. He was Well-read, Well-spoken, Well-traveled, Well-dressed, and Well-balanced. Mr. Fortenberry enjoyed painting, poetry and writing. His love for the arts far exceeded that of the average person. His life was a reflection of the arts and the amazing things that are birthed from them. It is through the life of Mr. Fortenberry that we are able to see that life is like a canvas and every person we meet, every life we touch and every deed we perform is a stroke of the artist's brush. Mr. Fortenberry has painted a masterpiece and his family is comforted in the legacy that he has left behind.

He is proceeded in death by his beautiful wife, Mrs. Sharon Fortenberry; both parents, Mr. Nathan Fortenberry and Mrs. Mildred Hart Fortenberry; two brothers, Harvey Lee Dickey, and Rodriguez Fortenberry.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, a son, Darrell Fortenberry, II- Gulfport, Mississippi; a daughter, Natashi (Emmanuel) Williams- Winston Salem, North Carolina; two brothers, James (Emma) Disckey- Richmond, Virginia, Robert Jones- Atlanta, Georgia; four sisters, Dianne (Charles) Aultman- Biloxi, Mississippi, Leah Fortenberry- St. Martin, Mississippi, Clotia Hart- Gulfport, Mississippi, Lynelle (Jimmy) Lunday- Biloxi, Mississippi; two grandchildren and a host of family members, friends, and co-workers,
