Cora Mae Sims was born on April 27, 1950, to the late Henry and Lovie D Smith.

Cora was a very loving person. She was a graduate of 33rd High School c/o 69. Cora was an Administrative Assistant in the medical field and would go above and beyond to do her job. For many years she was also an Avon salesperson.


She enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of her plants. Cora was known to have a green thumb. She loved the Lord and showed it in her praise and worship. When you saw Cora she always had a smile on her face and a song in her spirit. She loved everyone and most importantly helping anyone she could.

Cora is proceeded in death by her parents, Henry and Lovie D. Smith; brother, Henry Smith; sisters, Tecora Whitley, Eddie Mae Clark and Madura Teague; brothers in law, JC Clark, TJ Teague, Charles Keys and Buster Teague.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving and devoted husband, Lonnie Sims; son, Demeterius (Melaina) Smith; four grandchildren, Darius, KeKe, Demetrius Jr. and Detaurus; four great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Smith; sisters, Lovie Keys and Murline Teague; brother in law, John Whitley and host of relatives and friends.
