Clyde was born on January 23, 1952, in Greenwood, MS. He was raised by his parents in the precepts, principles, and teachings of the Christian faith. His childhood and young adult years were spent attending church services on Sunday and evening services during weekdays. His faith grew with maturity, and he developed a keen interest in understanding and teaching the word. His love of the gospel led him to
become a Deacon first and subsequently a Minister in the Church of Christ. Clyde moved to Gulfport MS. In 1976 and found his church home in the Church of Christ in North Gulfport.

After moving to Gulfport Clyde met and married his wife, Hazel Houston. They were married for 17 years. As fate would have it, they were the best of friends up to Clyde's last days. As the saying goes "a friend in need is truly a friend indeed." Love always finds a way.
