Obituary

Chancy Zebahiah Crumpton was born August 25, 1983 to Mr. W D Bankston and Ms. Dorothy Crumpton in Gulfport, Mississippi. He was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Chancy was reared in the Baptist faith and attended Faith Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. John W. Davis, Jr. Chancy departed this life, Monday, December 20, 2021.

Chancy was educated within the Gulfport School District. After his educational tenure, Chancy settled and remained in Gulfport. Chancy lived a very simple life. He chose not to be consumed with all of the latest and greatest "things" of this world. He was honestly a simple man, who lived a simple life. There are many things that can be learned from Chancy's life. He has taught us that life is indeed a journey and what you do along that journey is what makes it all worth wild. Many people who have touched or have been touched by Chancy's life can attest to the fact that he was a genuine man and his heart was pure. As we acknowledge Chancy's earthly departure, we rejoice in his heavenly arrival. May all who knew him be blessed by his life.

He is preceded in death by his father, W D. Bankston; a sister, Joyce Teresa Smith; grandparents Adolph Kenan & Melody Gardner, L.C. Bankston & Dorothy Bankston; two uncles, Rudolph Kenan and Thomas Greenwood; and one aunt, Delorise Jordan.

Chancy is survived by his mother, Dorothy Crumpton- Gulfport, MS; brothers, Orlando Crumpton, Henry Crumpton, and Isaac King- Gulfport, MS, and Raymond Crumpton- Pensacola, FL; sisters, Diana Crumpton- Columbus, Ohio, Glenda Smith- Salt Lake City, UT, Lena Smith- Gulfport, MS, and Traci Evans- Gulfport, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to
subdue all things unto himself. Philippians 3:20-21 (KJV)
