Cassandra F.
Husband Buckley
Nov 21, 1962 — Jan 19, 2022
Wiggins
Mrs. Cassandra Faye "Peaches" Husband-Buckley was born on November 21, 1962, to the late Carl and Essie Husband in Wiggins, Mississippi. At an early age, she professed her faith in Christ and became a member of St. Paul Methodist Church, which later became H. A. Brown Memorial United Methodist Church. She began playing piano during her early years and went on to become the church's musician. Since then, she has served as a musician/psalmist for many churches and choirs throughout south Mississippi until her untimely death on January 19, 2022.
She was united in holy matrimony to Rev. Billy Buckley on October 5, 1984. This union was blessed with 37 years of love and happiness along with two children, also including two whom she loved and adored as her own.
Mrs. Faye was a graduate of Stone High School class of 1980. After high school, she attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and furthered her education at Jackson State University. She was a school teacher for 29 years from which she retired in 2016. She was also a school bus driver for 24 years. After retiring, she quickly decided that sitting at home was not her calling. She began working for CDI Transportation in 2019 until the present. She had a love for sports and was the basketball statistician for Stone High School even after she retired. She was also the owner/operator of BB's printing, and the "go to" musician for the surrounding churches in Stone County. Faye came from a loving family of 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Although she was the youngest, many would tell you that she was the boss. She was a jack of all trades and mastered everyone of them. She was the go-to person for everyone in the family and many outside of the family.
Mrs. Buckley, as she was affectionately known by her students, was a true disciplinarian in the classroom as well as on her bus. Everyone that knew her knew that she always had a warm smile and an encouraging word. Because of this, students have loved and respected her throughout her many years of teaching. She gave tough love while providing a sort of mentorship at the same time. Her students always knew she was not to be messed with, because there just may be a switch somewhere in her reach.
Her beautiful life and sweet memories will forever be cherished by her loving and devoted husband, Rev. Billy Buckley of Wiggins, MS. Four children; Bryan (Kimberly) Husband of Fort Bragg, NC, Brittney (Jerome) Jordan of El Dorado, AR, Latice Williams of McKinney, TX, and Cornelius (Meredith) Buckley of Cypress, TX. One godchild; Trashun Word of Mountain Home Air Force Base in Mountain Home, ID. Four siblings; Delores Gaines, Annie Lomax, Odis Husband, and Willis Husband all of Wiggins, MS. Four uncles; O.C.
