Obituary

Mr. Carl "Sam" Leland Lewis, 54 of Gulfport, Mississippi departed this life, Thursday June 27, 2019. Sam, as he was affectionately known was a life long resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He was reared in the Baptist faith and lived a life that was reflective of his upbringing.
Sam is remembered by his family as a man with an, "old soul". He was adamant and constant at doing things the "old school" way. Sam loved life and was always finding the humor in life. He found joy in making those around him laugh, even in the darkest of moments. As testament to his niche for humor, April Fools day was his fondest celebrated day.

When he wasn't making people laugh, he enjoyed fishing. To cap any good day off, Sam enjoyed listening to some good music. His family is comforted in knowing that they were blessed to share life with such a loving, giving, and caring person. Sam brought so much joy to the lives of those who knew him and his life will forever be cherished.

He is proceeded in death by both parents, Mr. Richard C. Lewis and Mrs. Beatrice Ryan Lewis and a brother, Mr. Richard C. Lewis, Jr.
