Obituary

"But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself." Philippians 3:20-21

Brianna Walker was the second child born to Thomas and Toni Walker on July 19, 1992.  Brianna was affectionately called "Bri" by some of her family and friends. She was the most beautiful baby. As she grew, her inner beauty was just as evident as her outer beauty.

As a child, she loved being an altar server and a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Junior Daughters.  She also enjoyed playing basketball.

Brianna received her early education in Pass Christian at St. Paul Catholic School, and she attended junior high at Our Lady Academy, Bay St. Louis.  In 2005, Brianna and her family moved to Rowlett, Texas.  She enrolled at Schrade Middle School and graduated from Rowlett High School in 2010.  After graduating high school, Brianna enrolled in the University of North Texas and was actively pursuing a Bachelor of Science Kinesiology until she decided to enlist in the military. Brianna served in the United States Army for three years and was stationed in Germany during that time.  Her adventurous nature inspired her to travel to neighboring countries during her leave periods.

Brianna had a big heart and was a giver from an early age. When she was a young child Brianna would spend her lunch money or weekly allowance to buy things for other people as well, as she wanted to make sure everyone around her was taken care of.  As an adult, she wasn't much different. Brianna would have food delivered to her grandmother two states away "just because."   She would check on friends who were going through challenging times, always offering encouraging words.

Brianna was small in stature, but she had a big personality. Brianna was always smiling. If she sensed that you were down, she would say something funny to lift your spirits. She expressed that fun loving spirit in the way she dressed. She LOVED colorful, quirky clothing and shoes. Her family would occasionally tease her about her fashion choices, but they honestly loved her style and individuality.   It wasn't unusual for her to show up to her weekly family brunches wearing a shirt with images of broccoli or Bugs Bunny all over it. You could also bet that she'd be wearing the shoes to match.

She always had a "let's do it" attitude. She lived with a sense of urgency…and now her family understands why she did. Brianna  had one of the biggest hearts a human being could have. She had a smile that could make anyone smile, and a laugh that could make anyone laugh.  Brianna  will be forever loved and missed by her family and all who knew her.  The many beautiful and sacred memories shared with family and friends will live on forever.  Brianna's kindness, love, and friendship shown to everyone will continue to radiate and will be a testimony of a life well lived.

Preceding Brianna in death were her paternal grandparents: Henry Hoover Walker and Earline Walker; her maternal great grandparents, Harry Cannon and Theresa Cannon; maternal great grandparents, Alexander and Laura Dedeaux and maternal great grandfather, Harold Nathanial Antoine.

Brianna leaves to cherish her memory her loving father and mother, Thomas and Toni Walker, Dallas, Texas, her sister, Brittany Walker, and brother, Brennan Walker.  Her maternal grandparents, Debra Cannon, and Nathan Michael Antoine, and paternal grandparent, Margaret Walker.   Brianna also leaves behind a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and dear friends.
