Barbara
Hamilton-Hall
Mar 16, 1950 — Dec 4, 2020
Liberty
Barbara Hamilton Hall was an incredible lady who was loved by all who encountered her. She was a loving and devoted mother, sister, daughter and friend and she will be missed dearly.
Barbara was born on March 16, 1950, in Liberty, MS and departed this life on December 4, 2020 at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, MS. She was the third of eleven children born to Clifton Hamilton Sr. and Vivian Holden Hamilton. Barbara joined and was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church by the late Rev. Luke White.
Barbara graduated from Central High School and furthered her studies as a Music Major at Alcorn State University in Lorman, MS. She was a talented pianist and could easily navigate the complexity of sight reading two lines of music, using two different clefs, ten fingers, and eighty-eight different notes and pedals.
While attending Alcorn, Barbara met Simuel Hall Jr. The two united in holy matrimony and were the loving and proud parents of three children; Simuel III, Dyetra and Binah. The family joined and faithfully served the First Missionary Baptist Church soon after moving to Pass Christian, Mississippi. Barbara served as director of music and piano teacher for many years. Barbara loved and thoroughly enjoyed her Pass Christian community. In August 2005 after Hurricane Katrina made its landfall on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Barbara relocated to Liberty and reunited with the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and community. She continued to serve and share her musical gift when requested. She joined the Order of the Eastern Star and remained a member until her health prevented her from serving to capacity. When her health limited her mobility, she spent her time sewing, pampering herself, and found joy through her many interactions with family and friends.
Barbara, affectionally known as 'Bobbie' to family and friends, was incredibly kindhearted and loved by many. We will all miss her sense of humor, infectious laughter and having her to call when we just need to talk. While she was small in stature, she was mighty in spirit. She possessed an awe inspiring quiet strength and she faced life with grace and fortitude. Her faith and eternal hope guided her life, her walk with God and her journey back to her heavenly home.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Simuel Hall Jr., their son, Simuel Hall III, their daughter Binah Hall Benoit, both her parents, Clifton and Vivian Hamilton and her brother, Ellis Ray Hamilton.
To cherish her memories, she is survived by her daughter, Dyetra Hall Mendes; granddaughters: Simone Hall and Taylor Mendes; sisters: Minnie Chandler, Gloria Robinson, and Stephanie Davenport; brothers: Calvin Hamilton (Juanita), David Hamilton (Gwen), Clifton Hamilton Jr. (Bella), Ronald Hamilton, Donald Hamilton, Freddie Hamilton (Stephanie); a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, an uncle, cousins, church family and friends.
