Obituary

August E. Price was born August 3, 1946, in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. He is the son of Mr. Clarence Price and Mrs. Marie Barthe Price. August was a member of St. Rose DeLima Catholic Church. He believed in one holy, Catholic, and Apostolic church and confessed one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

August, or "Auggie Dog" as he was commonly known was a lifelong resident of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. He attended Valena C. Jones in Bay St. Louis, MS. August later enlisted in the United States Army and served his country honorably. Upon returning to civilian life, August began working at Bay High School. August loved his job and he worked for many years. To know August was to love him. On Monday April 18, 2022, August entered sweet rest.

August was never a man of many words, in fact, his quietness eventually became a large part of his personality. He was simply a quiet gentleman. August's life brought about many lessons, one of them being, quietness is not an indication of weakness, it often means that the individual is a force to be reckoned with. August was such a force. His observation of people, places, and things was unmatched and when he spoke you knew it was meaningful. August will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and loved ones, but we are reminded once again that it is in the stillness (quietness) of life that God speaks to His children and will reveal all things at their appointed time.

And He walks with me, and He talks with me,

And He tell me I am His own,

And the joy we share as we tarry there,

None other, has ever, know!

-C. Austin Miles-

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clarence, and Roger Price; and two sisters, Delecta Alexander and Lorraine Winston one aunt, Muriel Scott, one nephew, Nathaniel "Nat" Williams Sr. and two nieces Rosaline McGee and Shanell "Shy P" Price.

August leaves to cherish his loving memories; two brothers, Robert, and Sterling Price; three sisters, Lillian Williams, Judith Sheppard, and Monica Price; an aunt, Rose Pittman; a dear cousin, Barbara; a faithful friend, Charles Dorsey, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends!
