Aaron
Barnes
Jul 14, 1929 — Jul 30, 2020
Pass Christian
Aaron Barnes was born July 14, 1929. He was one of eight children and after a life of love, laughter, and memories, he departed this life, July 30, 2020. Aaron was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, DeLisle, Mississippi.
To speak of a man of faith, family, and integrity is to speak of Aaron. He was a firm believer of Christ and considered family to be the foundation of every man's life. Aaron served as a Senior Usher within his church and was one of the oldest members there. Aaron was the oldest member of the Magna Vista Lodge #301, where he also served as Honorary Treasurer.
Aaron enjoyed gardening and poultry farming, and everyone knew that Buster was his favorite rooster. He spent a great bit of time landscaping and repairing his cars as this gave me great enjoyment. Aaron was indeed an all around, "Fix It Man". Above all the things that Aaron did, spending time and cherishing his family was his main priority. He was a great mentor to family members and friends.
It is through the life of Aaron that we can see the important things in life and those are the things that we cherish, family, faith, and community. Aaron lived a good life and it was beyond a pleasure for family and friends to share life with him. We are all going to miss him dearly, but we are firm believers in the scripture that tells us that to be absent from this body is to be present with the Lord. So, until his coming, we will remain vigilant, faithful, and will carry on the legacy that Aaron has left behind.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. John Alex Barnes, and Mrs. Beatrice Barnes; and six brothers, Ulyess Barnes, Chase Barnes, John Alex Barnes, Jr., JV Barnes, Lee Barnes, and Walter Barnes.
He leaves to cherish his life and loving memories, his beautiful spouse, Mrs. Josie Barnes- DeLisle, MS; two sons, Luther (Rev. Elvina) Barnes- DeLisle, MS, Ruben (Debbie) Barnes- DeLisle, Mississippi; five daughters, Leola Saucier- Olmey, MD, Beatrice (Emery) France- Detroit, MI, Stherfia Barnes- Pass Christian, MS, Belinda (Eugene) Thomas- DeLisle, MS, Ruby (Gennarro) Welch- Gulfport, MS; 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; sister Addie William- Clinton, LA, brother Clyde (Odella) Barnes- Clinton, LA; and a host of other relatives and lifelong friends.
